Product Description

Advantages of 5-blade wind turbines over 3-blade wind turbines 1) 5-blade wind turbines will greatly improve annual energy production in low wind conditions. For areas with average wind speeds of 11 MPH (5m/s). If you compare annual energy output to conventional 3-blade wind turbine, there is an increase of annual energy output of more than 60%. 2) 5-blade wind turbines will dramatically improve the reliability and safety in high speed wind conditions. The blade rotation speed of a 5-blade turbine is 60% of the rotational speed for a 3-blade wind turbine. 5-blade wind turbines will greatly reduce chance of overspeed control malfunction. This will ensure operational reliability from a long term perspective. 3) The lower blade rotation speed of 5-blade wind turbine will lower wind turbine noise and make 5-blade wind turbines more community friendly than 3-blade wind turbines. Nylon-Fiber Glass High Efficiency blades is aerodynamically designed to regulate themselves, slowing automatically in high winds. 1. Strong Neodymium magnet PMA, the unique winding and multi pole design reduces the start-up torque of the alternator that assures generator to generate electricity at low wind speed. 4.5 mph start up wind speed. 2. Electric over-speed control, no more problematic mechanical furling. 3. Innovative low maintenance two-moving-part system design. 4. Easy to Install, Light Weight and highly reliable. 5. Generator: The generator is built using high-performance rare earth neodymium permanent magnets, so the alternator is compact and light weight with a high power generating efficiency. It is designed for various working conditions such as severe climate, sand and salt corrosive environments and marine usage. Number of Blades: 5 Blades Diameter: 5.9 Feet Rated 1000W @28 mph More Energy Output at low wind than 3-blade models Max Wind/Solar Output: 1200W

Customer Reviews

Just arrived today-- what they didn't tell you....

Review by Vinney Larue, 2010-05-29

I purchased the 1200 watt 5 blade wind turbine Windmax and it arrived today so I have not yet installed but will report on that when I do.
The package did not come with a packing slip. The plastic envelope on the outside of the box where the slip is often located was empty and it was not inside the box. It was packed well, but the screws were out of the plastic package and were lose within a compartment. The equipment appeared to come from China because of the English and Chinese symbols on the turbine housing. Visually, the equipment looked good with a nice white painted finish. The wind tail rudder was larger than the picture showed and it appeared very effective. I noticed the unit was heavier than I expected, and it had a rugged quality about it.

There were no installation instructions per say, but they did include a "Wind Turbine Guidebook," which covered five of the HYenerty models. Their Turbine Guidebook was photo copied or they ran it off on a printer that was losing ink because the last four pages were poor quality....some of the words were badly faded and it is difficult to read.

What they didn't tell you in the online sales pitch was that they do not warranty the turbine if you install it yourself. In fact, they specify that you should not even purchase it unless you have someone professionally install it for you. And they must approve the installer, which is never stated in their on-line written sales pitch. They include a four page document with all the reasons why they won't give you a warranty, and all the hoops you have to jump through to have them consider replacing a defective unit. The vendor especially insists that you even have to find an installer who must first contact them for approval before purchase and installation.

I read their Wind Turbine Guidebook, and the assembly/installation process is not difficult and its pretty straight forward.
